Biography

Alexandra Gonzalez is a program associate who supports the Marine Microbiology and Symbiosis in Aquatic Systems Initiatives. In addition to playing a role in grantmaking activities for both initiatives, she is a key member of the foundation's diversity, equity and inclusion sub-committee.

Alexandra holds a B.S. in biology and an M.S. in biology from the University of San Francisco. Her research lives at the intersection of data science and biology and she has worked to make endangered species data more accessible. She’s interested in social, environmental, and scientific impact and has had the opportunity to work across many fields.
