Biography

As program director for the foundation's conservation and markets work, Sabine leads the Conservation and Markets Initiative.

Sabine’s career as a finance professional has spanned the public and private sectors with a focus on sustainability/climate change and developing countries. Prior to coming to the foundation, she was the group sustainability officer of Germany-based Deutsche Bank AG and worked with senior management on the step-wise integration of sustainability and financial goals.

Previously, Sabine was a director at the Institute of International Finance (IIF), leading the work to improve conditions for private investment in developing countries. She started her career as an economist at the International Monetary Fund working in Africa, Eastern Europe and the Caribbean.

Sabine earned a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University and a M.A. in economics (Diplom Volkswirt) from the University of Mannheim, Germany.
