Woodwell Climate Research Center, Inc.

Woodwell Climate Research Center was founded in 1985 (as the Woods Hole Research Center) to address global environmental problems through innovative research and education. Based in Falmouth, MA, the Center’s renowned experts work with a worldwide network of partners to advance scientific understanding of climate change and foster evidence-based mitigation and adaptation strategies. Woodwell’s research explores the dynamics of climate change and human activity in Earth’s most consequential natural systems – from the tropical forests of the Amazon and Congo, to Arctic permafrost, and rivers around the globe. Using a combination of field work, satellite imagery, and computer modeling, Woodwell Climate scientists generate actionable insights, and then work to integrate that understanding into decision-making at all levels.
