This grant to Ecotrust helped launch of the State of the Salmon program. State of the Salmon consists of the following seven components: (1) Baseline State of the Salmon atlas; (2) Red List Reviews by species and stock around the North Pacific; (3) Annual Pacific Salmon Report on key selected topics; (4) Annual "Report Cards" on selected agency management and policy; (5) Triennial State of the Salmon Conference and Report; (6) Creation of international standards for population monitoring protocols and metrics; and (7) a State of the Salmon website. Outcomes for this grant include delivery of the baseline status atlas for North Pacific salmon, completion of the State of Salmon information system and website, conferences, annual reports, and salmon management report cards.
