Located in San Francisco, California Pacific Medical Center is one of the largest private, not-for-profit, academic medical centers in California and is a Sutter Health affiliate. The medical center is comprised of the four oldest hospitals in the city, all founded in the nineteenth century. The hospitals provide a wide variety of services including acute, post-acute and outpatient hospital care; home care and hospice services; preventive and complementary care; and health education.

Through its medical education program and research institute, physicians are able to bring health care innovation to the bedside. Services for patients beyond medical care include disease counseling, family support and wellness treatments. Reaching deep into the community, the center provides education, screening and financial support in some of the city’s most underserved areas.

The California Pacific Medical Center Foundation develops philanthropic resources to support the medical center. Governed by a volunteer board of trustees, the foundation funds projects and programs including the Coming Home Hospice, Kalmanovitz Child Development Center and Women’s Health Resource Center. The foundation also uses funds to purchase state-of-the-art technology and recruit and retain expert physicians.
