Foundation president, Harvey Fineberg, and chairman emeritus and co-founder, Gordon Moore, discuss the Statement of Founders’ Intent with staff.
Founded in 2003, the New Mexico Center for Nursing Excellence champions and honors nurses and is a recognized leader and change agent in advancing innovative nursing education, practice and work environment models. Based in Albuquerque, the organization works to create partnerships and programs that advance the nursing community’s capacity to meet New Mexico’s current and future health and health care needs.
With the University of New Mexico’s Center for Health Policy, the New Mexico Center for Nursing Excellence co-leads the New Mexico Action Coalition, which works to define and implement strategies that advance nursing in the state including the development of a nursing workforce data system. The organization offers an annual nursing educators conference, award series, education scholarships and a lecture series to promote professional development. It also collaborates with organizations to provide tailored leadership development workshops.
