With this grant, researchers from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology's Bioacoustics Research Program are developing new technology to track wide-ranging Amazonian mammals and birds. The new radio tag and an automatic direction-finding system will be used to collect data and plan landscape conservation design across the Andes-Amazon region. Outcomes for this grant include establishment of a 24-hour animal-tracking network over 25 square kilometers, completion of over-the-horizon tracking demonstrations, and integration of the tracking network.
