Ecotrust Canada received this grant to facilitate an integrated approach to salmon conservation in the Heiltsuk Nation traditional territory. Outcomes for this grant include draft versions of Heiltsuk land-use and marine-use plans, pilot shellfish aquaculture alternatives, implementation of four site-specific watershed plans, training for Heiltsuk in ecosystem-based forest management, and secured tenure for at least one forest in traditional territory.
