This grant will support Conservation International’s efforts in the Guiana Shield region to continue implementing a large-scale comprehensive approach to place under effective protection the largest continuous network of protected areas of Amazonia (~54 million hectares), extending across four countries (Brazil, Suriname, Guyana and Venezuela) and including diverse and pristine ecosystems as well as the most endangered species of the northern Amazon.
