Today, Health Affairs, begins a new series for its blog focused on end of life and serious illness. The series will cover the challenges facing patients both young and old in the advanced stages of illness as well as challenges confronting their caregivers, loved ones and health care providers. The blog series will lead up to the journal’s first-ever dedicated themed issue on the topic and will be published in July 2017. The foundation is supporting the themed issue of Health Affairs and its new blog series.

Kicking off the blog series is a piece by Vincent Mor, who is professor of health services, policy and practice at the Brown University School of Public Health. Mor, a widely respected authority on aging, long-term care and related topics, will also serve as the advisor to the themed issue. Read his first blog post in the new series titled “Why now? Concerns about end-of-life health policy” here.
