The week of December 15, the Sociedad Peruana de Derecho Ambiental (Peruvian Society for Environmental Law, SPDA) was awarded the Antonio Brack National Environmental Prize. The prize is an outstanding recognition given to individuals, social organizations, communities and volunteer groups who lead initiatives that contribute to improving the environment of Peru.

The SPDA is an important partner to the foundation’s Andes-Amazon Initiative; they facilitate the effective implementation of regulations and standards, defend public interest and participate in technical and political dialogue around environmental and social sustainability policies.

See more about this award (in Spanish) here, and the SPDA here.
