Biography
John Hillstrom leads the technology team at the Moore Foundation, making technology as frictionless as possible for staff. His work spans systems architecture, cloud platforms, AI/data strategy, and IT operations.
John excels at connecting big-picture strategy with hands-on execution - leading teams, improving processes, and implementing tools that help organizations work more effectively. He has worked across cloud platforms, including Salesforce, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace, with a focus on reliability, usability, and impact.
Previously, John served as Chief Technology Officer at B Lab, where he helped scale the organization globally and built key platforms such as the B Impact Assessment. He held leadership and technology roles at Resource Innovations, Clean Power Research, Apple, and Oracle.
John is glad to be near “The Farm,” having earned both his B.A. in Political Science and M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford. He is based in Santa Cruz, California.
