Foundation president, Harvey Fineberg, and chairman emeritus and co-founder, Gordon Moore, discuss the Statement of Founders’ Intent with staff.
The Washington D.C.-based Land Trust Alliance is a national land conservation organization founded in 1982 that represents more than 1,100 national land trusts across the country. The organization advocates for land trust policies and incentives, trains emerging conservation leaders and funds legal action to permanently protect trust lands. Online resources help educate policymakers, the public and landowners on land trust topics from accreditation to insurance and fundraising. The quarterly Saving Land magazine includes case studies, tips and resources on the latest trends in land conservation.
Through regional offices, the alliance builds local land trust capacity and fosters collaboration. At a national level, the organization connects diverse stakeholders, including federal agencies, nonprofits and businesses with expertise and interest in conservation, to advance the national land trust agenda. The Partnership for Gulf Coast Land Conservation, for example, brings together more than 30 groups in five states to enable conservation to happen along the Gulf of Mexico at scale.
