Founded in 1999, New America Foundation is a nonprofit civic enterprise dedicated to the renewal of American politics, prosperity and purpose in the digital age. The foundation is committed to the solution of public problems and provides a platform that enables individuals and groups working on these solutions to drive different stages of change, from inspiration to implementation.

As a non-partisan think tank, New America brings promising new voices to the fore of our nation's public discourse. With offices in Washington, D.C. and New York, the organization offers a fellowship program for journalists, academics and other public policy analysts. Its programs and initiatives encompass a variety of public policy issues including asset building, breadwinning and caregiving, cybersecurity, economic growth, education, international security, open markets, political reform, open technology, profits and purpose and resilient communities. The foundation also publishes New America Weekly, a digital magazine, and numerous policy papers, articles and books.
