The Resources Legacy Fund, located in Sacramento, California, advances the conservation of natural resources through creative solutions customized to the goals of its philanthropic partners. Its mission is to ensure the protection and stewardship of resilient and vibrant natural systems that support healthy communities and economic vitality.

The fund works collaboratively with foundations, individual donors and public agencies to achieve their philanthropic goals. Its partners include a diverse range of scientists and planners, nonprofit organizations, policymakers, legal experts, business interests and others. The fund creates solutions to address any conservation goal, regardless of size and location. Its team deploys multiple approaches and strategies in a broad range of areas, including policy development, coalition building, public funding, conservation planning and science, as well as the design and implementation of broad-scale initiatives.

Our work with the Resources Legacy fund spans dozens of efforts that include the acquisition of South Bay Salt Ponds lands and their restoration, the evaluation and update of California’s legal and regulatory marine management system and support for the Sierra Nevada Conservancy.
