Since 1981, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, partnering with the National Park Service and Presidio Trust, has provided over $300 million in support to the Golden Gate National Parks and pioneered innovative park stewardship and education programs.

Headquartered in San Francisco, the organization is dedicated to protecting the parks in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, making them relevant for and accessible to communities. The parks include Muir Woods, Crissy Field, Alcatraz, the Marin Headlands, Stinson Beach, Lands End and the Presidio, as well as additional park sites north and south of the Golden Gate Bridge.

The conservancy’s accomplishments include the completion of the Batteries to Bluffs Trail, a 3,600-foot pedestrian trail that extends from the coastal bluffs of the Presidio to the shore; the transformation of Crissy Field from a former military site to a popular and accessible national park; and the creation of the Golden Gate Bridge Pavilion, which provide orientation and information services to visitors and was built for the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge.
