Proforest helps people to manage and source natural resources sustainably. The organization consists of experts in the responsible production and sourcing of palm oil, soy, sugar, beef, timber and other agricultural and forest commodities. The nonprofit group works with governments, producers and other private sector partners, as well as civil society organizations and nongovernmental organizations throughout agricultural and forest product supply chains.

Based in Oxford, United Kingdom, with international offices worldwide, Proforest was established to provide technical support for companies and other organizations to implement their commitments to responsible production and sourcing in practice. The organization works at all stages of the supply chain from production to manufacturing and retail. This enables the ability to share expertise with people and in places that otherwise would not be able to implement responsible production and sourcing.

The organization supports many multi-stakeholder initiatives, building capacity and helping develop mechanisms to push forward the practical implementation of sustainability in agriculture and forestry. Producers, supply chain organizations, governments and civil society can adopt tools, guidance and practices developed by the organization.
