Foundation president, Harvey Fineberg, and chairman emeritus and co-founder, Gordon Moore, discuss the Statement of Founders’ Intent with staff.
The BC Wildlife Federation is British Columbia’s largest and oldest voluntary conservation organization. The federation coordinates efforts to advance long-term management of fish, wildlife, park and outdoor recreation areas in British Columbia, Canada. Its watershed sustainability programming documents and maps health indicators and shares best practices for watershed management and governance. The organization also develops and supports educational programming to build awareness and respect for Canada’s natural resources.
The federation’s membership is made up of more than 100 local clubs, 10 regional associations and individual members from across the province. Programming is conducted by committees comprised of club representatives and led by a chairman appointed by the federation’s president. The Angler Ambassador program, for example, engages local members as volunteers at designated lakes to offer instruction, explain regulations, demonstrate proper equipment use and promote conservation.
