Established in 2006, New Venture Fund is a public charity that supports innovative and effective public interest projects in conservation, global health, public policy, international development, education, disaster recovery and the arts. Based in Washington, D.C., the organization works with leading philanthropists including more than half of the 50 largest U.S. grantmaking foundations.

New Venture Fund has managed over a 120 projects across a range of areas in the United States and around the world. It collaborates with Arabella Advisors, a leading national philanthropy services firm that helps philanthropists and investors find innovative ways to achieve greater good with their resources. Each project receives separate funding and operates with guidance from a project advisory board, under the supervision of the organization’s board of directors.

Our work with New Venture Fund ranges from protecting aboriginal rights to salmon and marine conservation in the North Pacific, to supporting the Earth Genome project, a venture to create the first global, open-source database on ecosystem services and natural capital.
