Green Fire Productions, located in La Grande, Oregon, was founded in 1989 by Karen and Ralf Meyer to produce communication tools that help advance conservation and social justice issues. Its productions are intended to influence decision-makers on important environmental issues, inspire activism, change the debate, increase media coverage and educate the public.

Since its inception, Green Fire has produced numerous award-winning films that are used worldwide by nongovernmental organizations, Native American tribes, natural resource agencies, industry leaders, educators and individuals. The firm’s documentaries have appeared on PBS and have been screened in hundreds of communities throughout the United States, Mexico and Europe. Productions include a series of Ocean Frontiers films exploring ecosystem-based ocean planning; Lords of Nature: Life in a Land of Great Predators, a documentary exploring the role top predators play in restoring and maintaining ecosystems and biodiversity; and Common Ground, a three-part film series and outreach campaign on ocean conservation.

Green Fire also works with clients by providing a direct and strategic approach to video production and offering consulting on strategy and story development, production and editing.
