Moore Foundation grantee Manu Prakash was named to the 2015 class of emerging explorers by the National Geographic Society earlier this week.
The Emerging Explorers Program "identifies young trailblazers whose ideas are helping change the world." Prakash was recognized for his efforts in designing the foldscope, which has already been distributed in 130 countries to spark interest in science and help diagnose disease in resource-poor settings.
