Our grantees in the Emergent Phenomena in Quantum Systems initiative are deep into the exciting--and often weird--world of quantum materials.
Although these scientists are well-versed in bosons, quarks and plasmons, it's hard for many of us to understand what these particles are and imagine what technologies they could one day enable.
To help expand understanding of condensed matter systems and why studying emergent particles is important, we worked with Minute Physics to create a three-minute primer called "How to Discover Weird New Particles" for non-scientists.
This energetic, fast-paced video (repeat viewings are encouraged!) gives viewers a glimpse into the amazing world of quantum materials.
