Chancellor Linda Katehi of UC Davis comments on the recent groundbreaking for Betty Irene Moore Hall at UC Davis School of Nursing:

Over the past 18 months, we have engaged in a conversation with students, staff, faculty, and the broader campus community to develop a roadmap that will help UC Davis establish itself as a University of the 21st Century. UC Davis is a place where we implement new ideas, create new programs and lead the way with new research pathways and methodologies of learning and teaching.

These efforts have been aided greatly thanks to the generous support of the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation that has allowed us to establish a new Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing on our Sacramento campus. This week, we took a big step forward when we broke ground for a new, 70,000-square-foot School of Nursing building. Heralding the addition of Betty Irene Moore Hall, the groundbreaking commemorated our dedication to further the standard of nursing, interprofessional education, innovation and discovery.

The new Betty Irene Moore Hall will serve as the main home for the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Read more from the chancellor here.
