As the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation reflected on 25 years of work, the Community Fund continued its long-standing support for local nonprofit organizations that strengthen community well-being and resilience across Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. The 2025 Community Fund theme — “Looking Forward: Strengthening Community Resilience”— reflects the Moore Foundation’s continued focus on supporting organizations that address community needs today while contributing to long-term stability across our local community.
Our Community Fund helps support nonprofit organizations that provide essential services and steward local environments. The work of these local nonprofits spans a range of community needs, strengthening neighborhoods and supporting the people and places that depend on them.
Community resilience in practice
In 2025, the Moore Foundation’s Community Fund is supporting organizations working across several interconnected areas essential to community stability, including:
- Meeting basic needs.
- Improving access to nutritious and affordable food.
- Supporting educational opportunities.
- Fostering safe and healthy environments.
Together, these areas of support reflect the Community Fund’s focus on addressing immediate needs while reinforcing conditions that help communities adapt and endure over time. We recognize that community resilience is strengthened by the work of many organizations across the Bay Area. The nonprofit organizations supported in 2025 represent a portion of this broader landscape, and their work reflects areas of need also addressed by past Community Fund partners over time.
