Lloyd supports the foundation’s special projects in science and the plant science collaboration with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

Lloyd assists with the full life cycle of grant development and management for the science program.

Previously, Lloyd worked as a consultant and project manager with several Fortune 500 pharmaceutical companies undergoing manufacturing quality and validation remediation. He also worked at a biotechnology company as a research associate, developing a novel quantification assay for use on biological drug candidates. Lloyd’s volunteer experiences include tutoring high school students in science and math and serving as a youth mentor for underprivileged middle school students in Berkeley, California.

Lloyd received a B.S. in bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley, with an emphasis in tissue engineering.
