Aanika manages internal operations across the Science Program. She also provides strategic, research and operational support for the science learning and science policy portfolios and the Thirty-Meter Telescope commitment.
Previously, she was a program associate in the Science Program, and helped to launch the Emergent Phenomena in Quantum Systems Initiative and has worked on several other science program portfolios. Before joining the foundation, Aanika was a graduate student teaching assistant at the University of British Columbia. Aanika also worked as an intern at the International Rescue Committee in Oakland, CA. Her master’s thesis in anthropology was comprised of an ethnographic analysis of a non-profit organization that provides shelter and assistance to women and children in the Bay Area. In her free time, she volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for foster youth.
Aanika graduated with high distinction from the University of California, Berkeley, and received a master’s degree in anthropology from the University of British Columbia.
