The World Wildlife Fund released its Living Planet Report 2016, which indicates a 58% decline in mammal, reptile, amphibian, fish and bird populations between 1970 and 2012. The report highlights food production as a major contributor to the loss of biodiversity and a significant share of our environmental footprint—a central area of focus for the foundation’s conservation and markets initiatives.
