Foundation president, Harvey Fineberg, and chairman emeritus and co-founder, Gordon Moore, discuss the Statement of Founders’ Intent with staff.
Thanks to a large grant from the Moore Foundation, UC Santa Barbara’s National Center for Ecological Synthesis and Analysis (NCEAS) is aiming to address issues of long-term viability of salmon, a species that is under threat from challenges such as global warming, ocean acidification, and incomplete development of watersheds.
Read more about the work being done by NCEAS from Julie Cohen in the UC Santa Barbara Current: Sustaining Salmon: The National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis will produce a comprehensive view of the current state of salmon knowledge in Alaska.
