Program Associate, Science

Aanika provides strategic, research and operational support for the Science Learning portfolio. She also supports the Caltech and Thirty-Meter Telescope commitments.

Previously, she helped launch the foundation's Emergent Phenomena in Quantum Systems Initiative. Before joining the foundation, Aanika was a graduate student teaching assistant at the University of British Columbia and a research and administrative assistant for a civil liberties institute in Berkeley. Aanika also worked as an intern at the International Rescue Committee, where she assisted new refugees' transition to life in the United States. Her master’s thesis was comprised of an ethnographic analysis of an organization that provides shelter and assistance to women and children in the Bay Area. In her free time, she volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for foster youth.

Aanika graduated with high distinction from the University of California, Berkeley, and received a master’s degree in anthropology from the University of British Columbia.
