Interactions Between Climate, Forests, and Land Use in the Amazon Basin: Modeling for Mitigating Large-Scale Savannization
Term Amount Date Approved
36 months $2,013,724 Nov. 2008
Purpose
For a comprehensive evaluation and further development of the predictive capabilities of four state-of-the-art terrestrial ecosystem models against a suite of field measurements collected over a range of spatial and temporal scales in order to predict how land-cover change and changes in climate will affect the dynamic composition, structure and functioning of Amazonian ecosystems over the coming century.
