Purpose
For the protection of the 1,021-acre Souza III Property, a key step in preserving a critical grassland habitat and wildlife corridor, and will fund a research project to advance the science related to wind turbine and wildlife interactions. The grant will leverage the financial and operational commitments of the Conservancy, the East Bay Regional Park District, and the U.S. Department of the Interior and support expansion of the large-scale conservation area around Mount Diablo envisioned by the East Contra Costa County Habitat Conservation Plan / Natural Community Conservation Plan.
