Purpose
This grant to Northern Arizona University will determine whether certain levels of hiking and bicycling in Bay Area natural areas have significant impacts on habitat use by carnivores, deer, and other wildlife. Funding will be used to produce recommendations for Bay Area land managers on how to mitigate the impact of non-motorized recreation and thus ensure that public access is compatible with conservation areas such as parks and wildlife corridors.
