Purpose
The University of California is using this grant to design, construct, and to share in the operation of the Thirty Meter Telescope with Caltech. At 30 meters in diameter, this giant optical, infrared telescope is larger than any ground-based telescope in operation. Outcomes include the continuation of work on the telescope in collaboration with the California Institute of Technology.
