Program Associate, Science
Aanika is a program associate for the Emergent Phenomena in Quantum Systems Initiative and the Science Learning Portfolio. She also supports the Caltech and Thirty-Meter Telescope commitments.
Aanika assists with all aspects of initiative and portfolio development and grants management. Previously, she was a teaching assistant at the University of British Columbia and a research and administrative assistant for a civil liberties institute in Berkeley. As an intern at the International Rescue Committee, she assisted refugees’ transition to life in the United States. Her master’s thesis was comprised of an ethnographic analysis of an organization that provides shelter and assistance to women and children in the Bay Area. In her free time, she volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for foster youth.
Aanika received a B.A. in anthropology with high distinction from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.A. in anthropology from the University of British Columbia.
